Protecting underwater coral

Phu Quoc’s western coastal area during July to September can be especially wet and wild due to heavy and continual rain during this time, though intermittent good weather occurs occasionally and its rather enjoyable.  Bearing in mind the importance of underwater coral reef, a bio-diverse ecosystem which are often threatened by over-exploitation, disease, increased sedimentation, nutrient levels as well as the impacts of climate change.  Chen Sea Care Project has formed with an aim to gradually protecting our nature and remain true to Phu Quoc’s community we live in. 

• Applying Biorock™ technology for coral reef restoration, a major development to grow hard limestone rock for structural purposes and greatly increased growth of corals and all marine organisms
• It is our aim to bring these advantages to marine life and its ecosystem, building community fish refuges as well as creating wave barrier and improving water visibility overall 
• Chen Sea continuously maintain and keep our trees on shore to reduce runoffs into the ocean 
• Chen Sea’s effort to engage and empower Phu Quoc’s community through long term educational process
• Through close cooperation with appointed diving partner, university level interns receive opportunity for vocational training and reef restoration experience
• Daily and regular beach cleaning process and periodic litter collections, leaving no trace behind and preventing unintentional harm to the reef and fish
